2009 - 2nd Annual Great Bay Music Festival
The GBMF Story:
Why We Do This:
Great Bay Music Festival was started in 2008 to provide great music, food fun and games to the people of the seacoast NH. The 80 acres of rolling hills, fields, woods and ponds that make up Back River Farm have been preserved in conservation by the Huggins family. It is on this beautiful slice of land our Festival calls home.
One of our goals is to raise money to open a non-profit wilderness learning center. The Learning Center would provide local youth a chance to learn about the fragile ecosystems that make up much of the seacoast region. The shallow, warmer water on the Bay is ideal for teaching kayaking, canoeing, and water safety. We will also teach hiking, climbing techniques, first Aid, wilderness rescue, no trace camping, and survival skills, as well as the study of plant, animals, and geology of the region.
The Great Bay Music Festival is just but a small slice of possibilities the Back River Farm can offer us all. With your continued support, donation and visits to the land, the Wilderness Center and Festival we can one day achieve all of our goals and move forward providing an eco-friendly learning environment for all to enjoy years into the future.
